Honoring Your Introversion and Sensitivity

You’ve been paying attention. You understand the assignment. Now, you see how your life has been dramatically dictated by the way other people treat and perceive you. Quite frankly, you’ve been to Hell and back. Things got bad, but you survived. Looking at things in the rear-view mirror, you know it wasn’t right. It’s time to make a change. And you finally want to do something about it. So, where do you start? How does honoring your introversion work?

The fears, patterns, and internal processes we have as sensitive, introverted women will not just go away on their own.

This pattern you are in is well-established. In fact, your world has been carefully crafted to protect you. This is going to take time to unlearn. It's going to take work, too.

Let's break it down: You fear being seen as ‘difficult’ when you advocate for your needs.  You overextend yourself in order to fit in. The cost? Spending days in your bed, numbing out behind a screen until you feel human again. You can’t keep up this cycle of overdoing it and crashing. But you still feel trapped by society’s expectations of you. It feels impossible to find freedom from this cycle on your own. So, we have to break it. Together.

What would your dream days look like?

It’s time to ditch the norm and design a life that honors your needs as an empowered, introverted woman. So, let’s dream it up. Yes, right now.

What does that lovely life look like for you? If you could dream and design your perfect life, what would your days look like? Your nights? Your weekends? How would you do work? Would you change anything about your job? How would you stay successful and protect your energy? What would “being social” look like if you could have it any way you want?  Would you date? Have kids? Stay single? How would you hold boundaries with your parents and other family members?

Now, think about all of those dreams and plans again. Where are you holding back? Where are you settling for less than you deserve? Compromising? Playing small because that's what you are used to? Yes, I get it. I understand the tendency. However, that's exactly the opposite of what we need to do here. You can break out of the mold and design a radical life where your sensitivity is honored and celebrated. So, go back and read those questions again. Dream without boundaries. Get bold. How does all of this dreaming feel?
